Why Choose a Warm Roof for Your Conservatory?
A warm roof is a solid, fully insulated roof that replaces the glass or polycarbonate on your conservatory. The insulation sits within the roof structure, so the room behaves like the rest of the house: warm in winter, cooler in summer.
The benefits
- A U-value of 0.14 W/m²K, down from around 1.7 W/m²K for a typical conservatory roof.
- Reduced yearly heating costs.
- Less rain noise and sun glare.
- A plastered ceiling and a room you can use all year round.
- A 10-year insurance-backed guarantee.
Things to consider
- Light: expect around 5% less light from polycarbonate or 11% from glass. Velux windows can be added.
- Structure: a structural survey confirms your conservatory can take the roof.
- Building regulations: normally needed. We arrange approval and completion sign-off for you where needed.
- Time: usually 3–5 working days on average to build, with around 7 for larger or more extensive works.
